And the winner is...

Names were written on slips of paper...

The lovely assistant drew the winner at random...

And that person was...

New Zealander Helen, that is, as opposed to Melbourne Helen R-S (g).

Congratulations Helen! Drop us a line at to let us know where to send your prize, and make sure to leave a comment here to let everyone else know which book you're going to pick.

And thanks again for entering! Stay tuned for next week's book giveaway.

  1. What a lovely assistant you have there. (g)

  2. OK, where did my earlier post vanish to? Try again.

Grateful thanks from someone who never wins anything! My special thanks to the adorable Sophie - perhaps she could pick my Lotto numbers for tonight?

I would like "Regeneration" please, because it's new to me and it sounds fascinating. "Fly Away Peter" - I know I've read this, possibly at school - you would be surprised at how many Australian writers were in the NZ curriculum in the 1970s. "All Quiet on the Western Front", much read and battered, is in my own WW1 collection (just in case you were wondering where it went, Dad!)

I'm very much enjoying this blog - not for the prizes, but for the talk about writing. (The excerpts are great too!) I like having something new to read every day, too, especially Mondays when I'm so happy to be back at work and need consolation by lunchtime!

Thank you, the four of you!

  3. I figured it was high time to put her to work since her favourite game at the moment is picking up things (balls, paper, Duplo blocks, mobile phones, anything) and handing them to me one by one by one ad nauseum. Drives me nuts, but in this case, actually useful (g)

  4. You're welcome, Helen! Thanks for being a loyal reader :)

The good thing about Regeneration is it's the first in a trilogy, so if you enjoy it (I'm sure you will) there are two more books to look forward to.

  5. Congratulations Helen!

And Claire, your assistant is just too cute. :-)

  6. Congratulations Helen!
The assistant is indeed adorable :-)

  7. Congratulations, Other Helen! *gg* And clearly, great minds think alike, because that's the book I would have chosen had I won.
